Kafue - which is located in Zambia, is one of the world’s largest National Parks. It covers an area of around 8,600 square miles (22,400 km2), and is larger than a number of countries including eSwatini (formally Swaziland), Slovenia, the Gambia and Qatar. It is situated in the western part of Zambia, and is about a 3 hour drive from the capital of Lusaka.

I am in the fortunate position whereby I have visited Victoria Falls several times in the last couple of years. It is one of my favourite destinations to visit for a couple of days, and it makes an excellent add-on for trips into South Africa, Namibia, Kenya and Botswana! I often have conversations with people about visiting this fabulous destination, and one of the most popular questions is ‘where to stay’. So I have decided to pull together a quick ‘Top 5’ of my recommendations. This is purely my opinion, but it is based on genuine visits as I have now stayed in most of the Hotels within Vic Falls!

When going on a safari holiday for the first time one of the key considerations is always what to pack? If you are anything like me then there is a high chance you will over-pack working on the ‘what-if’ principle. Now, I have done around 40+ safaris, and to be honest…I still take too much!! However, I have learnt over time what I need to take and what I am likely to use the most so I have pulled together some of my key thoughts below 🧐
